Cherry Drive is awesome! I've been here two years, and I love it. Before teaching here I spent my first year in Colorado working at a local daycare and tutoring center. Prior to that I taught sixth grade in Rocky Mount, North Carolina. If you're wondering where that is, it's just past Raleigh on the way to the coast. You know, the part you want to drive through really fast . ;) I wasn't born there though. I actually come from Fort Wayne, Indiana. My parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, second cousins twice removed, and the cat all still live there. I miss them a lot, but I love Colorado!

I have been teaching in District 12 for 24 years. I have been at Cherry Drive for one year. Before that I taught at Leroy Drive Elementary for 23 years.During that time I taught 3rd and 4th gradeas and a split4/5 class. I have been involved in many afterschool activities my favorite being a double dutch jump rope club and a science club called MESA. I have had the pleasure of teaching children of former students.

Greetings! Cherry Drive has been my teaching home for almost a decade. 5th grade is a great level to teach. Students are transitioning into young adulthood....although some believe they're in their early twenties, right?! Their reasoning abilities and questions they have about everything help keep me on my toes.

I moved almost every 2 years growing up until my family moved to Las Animas in southeastern Colorado. I spent my first 3 years of school in Japan and then lived in several states including Alaska. I moved to Denver to direct a Childhood Center and then went back to school to get my elementary license.
