Job Description:

I am so excited to be teaching for my fifth year at Cherry Drive!  I began "teaching" when I was five years old.  Playing school was a daily happening throughout my childhood.  My love of teaching only grew as did I.

I was born and raised in Westminster, Colorado and lived in the same 1/4 of a mile my whole life until several years ago. I attended District 12 schools beginning in 4th grade until I graduated in 2000. My positive experieces guided me toward wanting to be a teacher in the district.

I went to Metro State for my undergraduate work. It was a great experience but my love of learning and teaching didn't end. In December 2008, I graduated with my Master's degree focused on literacy, from Regis University.  My love of learning continues to grow and I look forward to taking several classes this year.

Throughout my studies I have developed a true passion for teaching literacy to young learners. One of my biggest daily pleasures is watching my students curl up and lose themselves in a great book during Reader's Workshop. It warms my heart and puts a smile on my face to see my students developing a love of reading similar to my own.

When I'm not at school my favorite things to do are spend time with my family, friends, cooking and entertaining. I also love taking trips to the mountains and enjoying the incredible sunshine Colorado is so often blessed with. I am so fortunate to have so many wonderful people and experiences in my life. I feel truly blessed in so many ways and hope to give back to my students and those around me.
